About the role: 

Reporting to the Director of Accounting in North America. The Senior Accountant is responsible for assuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in support of Serrala in North America. Support timely monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accrual schedules, and overall maintenance of all operational management accounts. Maintain Intercompany reconciliations and procedures with multiple business units. Review company performance and provide variance analysis to management.  Prepare & update records & reports for outside reporting including taxes, government agencies, and audit  If you possess a commitment to precision, a discerning eye for detail, and a dedication to financial probity, this position offers a substantive platform to contribute significantly to the financial architecture of our organization. Your Day to Day:

Core duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following 

  • Coordinate the monthly financial close and reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial results 

  • Prepare and post general ledger journal entries 

  • Reconcile the general ledger and ensure all necessary journal entries and accruals are captured in both the income statement and balance sheet 

  • Prepare documentation and schedules for other departments as requested 

  • Analyze monthly and quarterly fluctuations in the balance sheet and income statement, and investigate discrepancies 

  • Assist in establishing, implementing, documenting, maintaining and monitoring internal control procedures and accounting policies 

  • Help implement new processes and systems (as well as improve existing ones) 

  • Diving deeply into financial data and becoming a subject matter expert on key processes 

  • Partner with other corporate departments and related entities to ensure proper accounting for revenues and expenses 

  • Help manage annual audit and any other audits throughout the year 

  • Research accounting pronouncements as needed 

  • Aid and/or train other team members as needed 

  • Maintain Intercompany reconciliations and procedures with multiple business units. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

What makes you excel in this position: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Education and/or Experience – BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.  Big 4 experience and/or CPA preferred, but not required. 

  • Experience – 6+ years of experience in the accounting function and preferably at a SaaS, Saas consulting, or tech company.

  • Technical Skills – Advanced Excel skills with experience building complex analytical models. Experience working in ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite. Experience working in Salesforce. 

  • Language Skills – Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to influence others and effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders and corporate departments 

  • Analytical Skills – Ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture. Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and relationship building skills. Capable of balancing multiple work demands and setting priorities to meet strict deadlines 

  • Other Skills- Comfort with ambiguity; Independent thinker who is happiest in the ‘grey’ 

 

Salary Range
United States: USD 68,000-85,000

 

The above annual base salary range represents a general guideline of the low and high end of the pay range of this position. However, the actual salary offered will be determined on various factors including but not limited to location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education, training as well as market and business considerations.
