The Freelancer Software Engineer supports the design, development, and delivery of SAP-based business applications.

The role requires close collaboration with Product Owners and cross-functional teams, ownership of technical solution design, and active contribution within agile delivery setups.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Requirement Analysis

• Analyze business and technical requirements.
• Design technical solutions together with the Product Owner.
• Clarify and communicate technical dependencies and constraints.

Solutioning / Technical Design

• Actively engage in and own the technical design process.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Perform impact analyses and develop proofs of concept where required.

Execution Excellence

• Break down user stories into technical tasks.
• Define implementation approaches and timelines.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure production readiness.

Business Agility

• Actively participate in agile ceremonies and practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the team.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

• Collaborate across teams and contribute to organization-level initiatives.
• Support and mentor junior team members when required.

Technical / Professional Qualifications

• Experience in the design and development of business applications.
• Experience with the implementation and provisioning of ABAP Cloud applications.
• Hands-on experience with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Experience in defining and implementing behaviors in managed and unmanaged scenarios.
• Proficiency in creating and managing CDS views, business objects, and data models using Core Data Services (CDS).
• Knowledge of SAP Clean Core principles.
• Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
• Experience working in agile environments is an advantage.

Skills, Know-how, and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with ABAP-OO, OData, and REST-based services.
• Experience developing SAPUI5 Freestyle Applications and Fiori Elements Applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
