About the role
As a Senior Test Engineer - SAP Payments , you will play a central role in ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of Serrala’s SAP Add‑on solutions for automated payment processing.
This is a hands‑on senior individual contributor role, working closely with software engineers and product stakeholders in an agile environment. You will contribute not only by executing tests, but also by shaping testing strategies, improving automation, and strengthening overall quality standards across the team.
The role is well suited for experienced test engineers who want to deepen their technical impact while working on complex financial systems.
Your responsibilities
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Execute comprehensive manual testing of SAP Add‑on solutions focused on automated payments
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using TOSCA and Playwright
- Perform automated testing of SAP Fiori applications, aligned with SAP Clean Core principles
- Ensure robust test coverage across functional, integration, and regression scenarios
Collaboration and Agile Delivery
- Work closely with developers in a Scrumban environment
- Contribute to test case design and the definition of effective testing strategies
- Actively participate in planning sessions, reviews, and retrospectives
- Promote a strong culture of shared ownership for quality
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Manage test data and ensure its consistency and relevance
- Create clear, structured test reports for technical and business stakeholders
- Monitor test execution and track quality metrics
- Analyze tasks and prioritize testing activities based on urgency and business impact
AI and modern testing practices
We value pragmatic and responsible use of AI‑supported tools to improve efficiency and quality in software testing.
You may use AI in areas such as:
- Supporting test case creation, test data generation, or test documentation
- Assisting with automation scripting and code reviews
- Analyzing logs, defects, or test results to identify patterns more efficiently
- Enhancing exploratory testing by identifying edge cases and alternative scenarios
- Improving collaboration and reporting through AI‑assisted summaries or insights
We are interested in how you apply AI thoughtfully in a professional context, particularly in financial and payment systems where accuracy, compliance, and data sensitivity are critical.
What you bring
Required experience
- Strong experience in manual and automated testing
- Proven expertise in payment processing and financial transactions (mandatory)
- Experience with SAP systems and ideally SAP Fiori applications
- Hands‑on experience with test case creation and execution
Technical skills
- Solid knowledge of test automation tools, especially TOSCA and Playwright
- Experience with automation scripting and API testing
- Familiarity with test management tools, such as Jira with Zephyr Scale
- Understanding of CI/CD processes is an advantage
Education and background
- Degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics, or a related field, or
- Completed apprenticeship as a banking professional
- Career changers with strong, relevant hands‑on experience are welcome
- ISTQB certification is a plus, but not required
