Role Overview


As a Software Engineer focusing on ABAP Cloud, you will design, build, and deliver scalable business applications on SAP while adhering to clean‑core principles. You’ll partner closely with the Product Owner, lead parts of the solutioning and technical design, and ensure production‑ready, well‑documented code in an Agile environment.

 

Tasks & Accountabilities

 

Requirement Analysis

  • Analyze business/functional requirements and shape solutions with the Product Owner.
  • Identify and communicate cross‑team dependencies and risks.

Solutioning & Technical Design

  • Lead and contribute to technical design: documentation, impact analysis, and PoC creation. 
  • Own the end‑to‑end approach to selected solution areas.

Execution Excellence

  • Break down user stories into development tasks and realistic estimates.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code; keep documentation current.
  • Ensure operational readiness: testing, quality checks, deployment preparedness.

Business Agility

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities with an agile, product mindset.

Collaboration & Mentoring

  • Collaborate across product/engineering/architecture.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to organization‑level initiatives.

 

Technical & Professional Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing and developing business applications.
  • Track record delivering ABAP Cloud applications.
  • Strong hands‑on with SAP ABAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model).
  • Skilled in defining/implementing behaviors (managed & unmanaged).
  • Proficient with CDS views, business objects, and Core Data Services data modeling.
  • Knowledge of SAP Clean‑Core principles.
  • Fluent English; German is advantageous.
  • Experience in AGILE environments is an advantage.


Skills, Know‑How & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years with ABAP OO, OData, REST
  • 3+ years with SAPUI5 Freestyle and Fiori Elements apps.
  • Strong analytical/problem‑solving skills; effective communicator; team‑oriented.
